ArtStart began in 2002 with the goal of helping children gain access to high quality arts instruction. ArtStart is now in it’s seventh year and it continues to focus on children aged 5-14 from low income families.

Children are given the chance to express their creativity and learn from real artists in both individual and group classes focusing on visual art, dance, drama, music and multi-disciplinary arts.

Who Supports ArtStart?

All programs are led by a team of volunteer arts professionals and students. Funding comes entirely through donations from the community.

ArtStart received a $25,000 grant from The Community Spirit Foundation this year! These funds will go directly to the operation of ArtStart!

Through our partners and sponsors we are able to offer scholarships for outstanding participants. We are a partner agency with Summer @ CCEP, a six-week day camp for kids from the eight schools of the City Centre Education Project.
